Hanging Distance Studios, the studio behind final 12 months’s motion horror title The Callisto Protocol, has suffered layoffs.
It’s been confirmed by way of IGN that 32 workers have been let go from the studio. These embody manufacturing coordinator Sebastian Marlow, affiliate producer Nora Falcon, senior atmosphere artist Matthew Smith, and VFX artist Matt Christopherson.
A spokesperson for Krafton, Hanging Distance’s dad or mum firm, gave the next assertion to IGN:

Sadly, these adjustments have impacted 32 workers. Hanging Distance was based in 2019 by Useless House co-creator Glen Schofield alongside trade veterans. The Callisto Protocol was its first title, launched in December 2022. Set in a jail on Jupiter’s moon of Callisto in 2320, it follows an inmate’s escape following an alien outbreak. The sport obtained a combined reception from critics and gamers; we scored it a 6 out of 10 in our overview. It was reported in January that The Callisto Protocol underperformed in gross sales in comparison with its reportedly huge funds.
The Callisto Protocol’s story enlargement, Ultimate Transmission, was launched on June 28.
